Wir lieben Florida und verbringen im Sunshine State sehr, sehr viel Zeit. Wir lieben die Sonne und die Wärme, die das Klima hier mit uns teilt und wir lieben es, unterwegs zu sein und neue Gegenden und Orte zu entdecken oder schon bekannte Orte wiederzuentdecken.
Manchesmal gibt es einen besonderen Moment oder eine besondere Situation, die uns im Gedächtnis bleibt, weil wir fast ausschließlich auf Nebenstrecken unterwegs waren. Ob einsame Orte oder fantastische Landstriche - wo immer wir waren, haben wir aufgeschlossene, symphatische und kommunikative Menschen getroffen. Wir unterhielten uns, bekamen Tipps und Empfehlungen - und immer ein Lächeln.

The ultimative Sundowner in Cape Coral
Coming back every time, The Boathouse Tiki Bar & Grill at the Yacht Club is the best place in Cape Coral to watch a breathtaking sunset over the Gulf of Mexico. It’s casual, whether at the bar, at the table, with your feet in the sand, or sitting at the railing with sea view (our favorite), you’ll have a wonderful panorama of Fort Myers Beach, the islands and the Caloosahatchee River.
With a 🍸 cocktail or a refreshing Yuengling beer, the day ends perfectly with 🎸 live music. It’s worth getting there early for a little stroll along the beach or pier. And of course a photo on the big chair of the house should not be missed!
Sad to tell you that hurricane IAN left a lot of damages on this beautiful spot - the Tikihut was broken down completely. The whole area at Yacht Club was closed, even the beach was not accessable for several months.
But, The Boathouse has reopened in July 2023! The place is as good as before IAN hit it. New is a dash of more excellence - and a view without that famous palm tree. We have that palm on hundreds of photos we have made at Boathouse over several years. We do miss it and hope someone will set up a new one at that place!
